It Was A Happy Father's Day

What says fathers's day like three racks of baby backs cooked to perfection and a few roasted ears. The carmelized crust that formed on the ribs was something from the future, just crazy delicious. Hope all the fathers out there had an awesome day!!

Double Cut Bacon, Peppered Turkey, Swiss, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Garlic/Herb Aioli on French Peasant Loaf

I know what your thinking, your like "Hey Earl of Sandwich, why not use the bacon as the bread??? Yes, I thought about weaving the bacon into a type of "bacon blanket"(thank you Big Al) and use that as a vehicle for the remaining ingredients. This works in theory, but unfortunately during the trial runs, there were serious grease burns to the fingers of an overzealous tester. In the end, with Peasant Loaf now joining the party, and the bacon safely between the bread, the sandwich finally came together. I did have to pull out thee old Unhinge The Jaw, Amazonian Python Maneuver(U.T.J.A.P.M), but its times just like that, when the sixteen weeks of U.T.J.A.P.M certification training in Morocco really pay off......

*Mission Acomplished & Was Delicious

How on earth am I expected to go back to work after a lunch like this. Obviously, its a pulled pork sandwich on a behemoth toasted bun w/ hot crisp onion straws. At the top of the plate is a horseradish slaw that offered a tart bite and the beans were a great bbq addition. The kicker was the small cup at the bottom of the plate. A small side of mac and cheese. With the exception of the lettuce, a simple misplayed afterthought, the craftsmen of this particular sandwich got many things right. A large toasted bun with an equally large helping of pork and onion straws is a great framework for a sandwich any day. But today the small scoop of mac and cheese was king. It really tied the sandwich together.

Nugget Nectar's Drunk Uncle

Some of you may know that I think Troeg's Nugget Nectar may be quite possibly the most glorious beer ever made. This steps up the original quite a bit.

I stole this-----> Very bold and intense, think hops dipped in candied sugar and rolled in dark chocolate nibs. Over time, the Flying Mouflan transforms into lush raisin and chocolate overtones as the hops subside and the rich barley flavors come out in the beer.

So that means put it in your sock drawer for a while, then once you forget its there, then remember again, take it out and drink it.
